Palm Beach is a northern beachside suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Palm Beach is located 41 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Pittwater Council, in the Northern Beaches region. Palm Beach sits on a peninsula at the end of Barrenjoey Road, between Pittwater and Broken Bay. Palm Beach is sometimes colloquially referred to as 'Palmy'.
Palm Beach is used for exterior filming of soap opera Home and Away, as the fictional town of Summer Bay.
There were no roads leading up to the lighthouse so we had to take this trail
The trail was narrow but we rested several times on the way up
However the scenic views were breathtaking
We got caught in a large rain storm and there was no way down the moutain trail because of the mud.

Phil Tanner came to our recuse as he was staying in the lighthouse.
Phil was 30 years old and was there working construction to build a road up to the Light House he happened to be off that day due to the rain... lucky for us.
He invited us in and made us a cup of tea so we could stay warm until the storm passed. So we sat down for a visit.
Phil told us his father only owned two records when he was growing, up one was Johnny Cash and the other Kenny Rogers.
We found out Phil was from London and he rode his bike 18 months through China and Russia to get to Australia.
When the rain broke he gave us a private tour inside the lighthouse what a thrill.
Notice when shooting through the lighthouse glass, the land is upside down.
The lighthouse was built in 1880 and all the stones were handmade and curved to perfection. This is a view looking up the stairs.
It tunrs out Phil was a graphic artist by way of schooling but loved to do Characture art in the parks on the weekends. He used it to earn money on his trip to Sydney.
Looks just like us.
When the rain broke Phil walked us down the hill via the road they were building. It was getting late and we had to get back to Sydney.
As we were leaving the park there were several Cocktoo birds in the trees.  We brought bread to feed the seagulls, so Annie fed it to the Cocktoo's instead.
They like to eat and run...
God had a plan for this day. If it had not rained we would not have met Phill, or seen the inside of a lighthouse, or had our caricature made. God is great!
Here's looking at you...
